Maccarrone Dea Tyche Wood Marquetry Vertical Humidor Cabinet
Tyche was the Greek goddess of fortune, and the Maccarrone Dea Tyche gives her an upright cabinet dressed in dyed and precious wood veneers inlaid by hand. Inside, Spanish cedar and passive humidification keep a substantial collection ready. In a lounge, an office or a private room, this vertical humidor cabinet is furniture first, and a fitting gift to mark good fortune.
- Material: Dyed and precious wood veneers in hand-inlaid marquetry, high-gloss hand-polished lacquer, Spanish cedar (cedrella odorosa) lining
- Mechanism: Passive humidifier and hygrometer
- Format: Vertical cabinet
- Country of Origin: Italy, Tuscan workshop
Details: The Maccarrone family has built furniture for five generations, and each Dea Tyche cabinet takes months: the graphics are laser-cut, then every veneer is assembled by hand and the lacquer is polished. A passive humidifier and a hygrometer keep the cedar-lined interior balanced. Stand the cabinet on a level floor away from vents and windows, check the hygrometer weekly in air-conditioned rooms, and dust the lacquer with a soft, dry cloth.
