Maccarrone Rinascimento 150 Count Wood Marquetry Humidor
Rinascimento is Italian for the Renaissance, and this Maccarrone humidor carries that era's sense of order and ornament across its lid. Dyed and precious wood veneers are inlaid by hand in the Tuscan workshop, and the Spanish cedar interior holds about 150. It is a large desktop piece for a library or a formal office, and a fitting gift for a lover of Italian art.
- Material: Dyed and precious wood veneers in hand-inlaid marquetry, high-gloss hand-polished lacquer, Spanish cedar (cedrella odorosa) lining
- Capacity: About 150, depending on size and arrangement
- Mechanism: Passive humidifier and hygrometer
- Country of Origin: Italy, Tuscan workshop
Details: Maccarrone laser-cuts the pattern, then assembles each veneer by hand over months before sealing and hand-polishing the lacquer. The large interior allows a full rotation, kept in balance by a passive humidifier and a hygrometer in the cedar lining. Place it away from vents and windows, where Gulf temperatures swing most, and refill the humidifier as the reading drops. Dust the lacquer with a soft, dry cloth.
